 April 2009: Ashling Debug Tools for NXP's new TV5500 global digital TV platform
Ashling Microsystems announces the availability of a new range of development tools for NXP's PNX85500, the advanced processor for its TV550 global DTV system solution.
The NXP TV550 is a new global single-chip digital TV platform, which allows viewers to enjoy HD digital TV and Internet content with unparalleled picture quality on mid-range TVs. NXP's TV550, which features the PNX85500 processor and integrates NXP's proprietary Motion Accurate Picture Processing (MAPP2) technology, allows manufacturers to offer a range of advanced high definition TV features only previously available in high-end sets.

Developed in co-operation with NXP, the Ashling toolset offers a comprehensive solution for PNX85500 and TV550 application development. The toolset includes:
- Opella-XD Hardware USB2 JTAG Emulator with high speed code download (3MB/s) and supporting up to 100MHz JTAG frequency.
- PathFinder Source-level Debugger - compatible with all market standard compiler toolchains.
- AsIDE-MIPS Integrated Development Environment with compiler and linker.
- GDB-Server-MIPS allows Ashling hardware to be used with GNU GDB/Insight/Eclipse CDT Windows- and Linux-based debuggers.
