VIDEO on Debugging with ARC Real-Time Trace
DesignWare ARC Real-time trace allows you to use an Ashling Ultra-XD pod to capture trace from an ARC HS core and upload it to the MetaWare Debugger at gigabit Ethernet speeds. Captured trace can be turned into a “replay” database enabling you to debug your program by executing it both forwards and backwards.

In this video watch Tom Pennello, Principal R&D Engineer at Synopsys, explain how to use trace filtering, program profiling from trace, and additional replay features, such as call stack history as well as trace replay for multicore.

New Features in this release

1. Fixed issues with USB3.0 support on some Linux hosts

2. Linux users should note that the Ashling Opella-XD software requires the QT5 libraries which are supplied with the software, however, they need to be added to your load library path as follows:

$ export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/home/ashling/opellaxdforarc/qt5_libs/
$ export QT_QPA_PLATFORM_PLUGIN_PATH=/home/ashling/opellaxdforarc/platform/

3. Improved support for multiple sequential connections (especially when using the Synopsys arcsrv utility)

Opella-XD for ARC Linux Driver Software, v1.2.3, 4th July 2018

New Features in this release

1.      Fixed issues with USB3.0 support on some Linux hosts

2.      Note:

libusb-1.0 or higher is required, hence, please ensure it is installed on your system (more details in the supplied user manual) and that the Opella-XD installation directory is added to the LD_LIBRARY_PATH e.g.:
$export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/home/<user>/AshlingOpellaXDforARC

The Ashling Opella-XD software requires the QT5 libraries which are supplied with the software, however, they need to be added to your LD_LIBRARY_PATH and QT_QPA_PLATFORM_PLUGIN_PATH as follows:
$export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:/home/<user>/AshlingOpellaXDforARC/qt5_libs
$export QT_QPA_PLATFORM_PLUGIN_PATH=/home/<user>/AshlingOpellaXDforARC/platforms
